IoT & Embedded Software Architect

Assignment Description

• Define and maintain software architecture in our projects.
• Derive and document software requirements based upon system and product specifications and analyze requirements to determine feasibility of design within constraints.
• Investigate new technologies within software engineering.
• Work in a multi-disciplined engineering team to define interfaces between hardware and software.
• Participate in verification activities including code reviews, unit testing, integration testing and documentation reviews.
• Be prepared to participate in system development (hands-on).
• Be in dialogue with stakeholders to interpret needs and transform these into a manufacturable design.
• You have a good system view and know what works and what doesnt work and understand the hardware connections as well as the different building blocks in an embedded system.
• You also have a strong interest in embedded development and are comfortable with many different embedded platforms and operating systems.

Requirements

• Relevant experience as a software architect and Object Oriented analysis and design.
• Experience from embedded software development.
• A team-oriented person who enjoys the variety of working in smaller and larger teams.
• Strong embedded C/C++ skills.
• Device Driver Development experience.
• Real Time Operating Systems skills.
• Great communication skills in spoken and written English.

Desired Skills

• Software development for medical device according to IEC 62304.
• Open-source development.
• Configuration Management and Automatic build systems tools such as Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, Gitlab.
• Connectivity standards like Bluetooth, Wifi, NFC, LTE.
• Debuggers like Jlink, ST-Link, Lauterbach, Trace32.
• Measuring Instruments like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Security Related Areas - Keys, certificates, TLS/SSL.
• Bringup of electronics hardware.
• Bootloaders.
• Embedded Linux & Yocto/buildroot.
• Communication with cloud with MQTT or REST.
• Safety classified software.
