The Director of Sales (Partner) is accountable for driving partner-led commercial performance across their defined scope, delivered through Sales Managers (Partner) and associated partner-facing teams. The role translates regional partner strategy into clear direction, scalable frameworks, and a consistent operating model-ensuring disciplined execution, capability uplift, and a unified partner experience across countries and segments. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for Cisco, owning and managing the overall partner relationship.
Success in this role requires strong leadership capability, partner ecosystem expertise, and the ability to guide managers in building high-performing teams. The Director of Sales (Partner) strengthens execution quality, ensures alignment across People, Business, Finance, and Operations, and enables sustainable partner growth by embedding Future Ready behaviours such as agility, tech fluency, collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement. The role models the values of Ambition, Integrity, Partnership, and Accountability while driving clarity, prioritization, and strong commercial governance.
Director ensures the right structural choices, investment decisions, partner coverage models, and leadership standards are in place. This Tjänst resolves cross-Land or cross-functional trade-offs, governs partner performance cadence, and represents partner strategy internally and externally as required.
Business Performance & Growth Leadership (Primary Focus)
- Own revenue, margin, profitability performance across assigned perimeter.
- Translate regional strategy into partner-focused business plans and priorities.
- Ensure pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and execution discipline through Sales Managers.
- Drive sustainable and balanced growth across partner types and solution areas.
- Lead, coach, and develop Sales Managers (Partner) as people leaders and commercial owners.
- Set clear expectations for governance, operating rhythm, and leadership standards.
- Build leadership capability, succession pipelines, and bench strength.
- Foster a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative leadership culture.
Strategic Arbitration & Structural Decision-Making
- Resolve competing priorities across markets, partners, and internal functions.
- Allocate resources and investments to maximize partner ecosystem growth.
- Make structural decisions (coverage models, segmentation, leadership alignment) within scope.
- Ensure alignment with regional and enterprise priorities.
- Partner with Finance on planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Govern MDF investments, partner programs, and ROI measurement.
- Ensure compliance with commercial policies, pricing governance, and ethical standards.
- Maintain a unified source of truth for partner performance and reporting.
Governance, Cadence & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Ensure consistent processes, tools, and standards across all partner teams.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with Vendor Management, Solutions, Marketing, and Operations.
- Champion simplification, digital adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Leadership Representation & Engagement
- Represent partner strategy internally and externally as required by scope.
- Engage senior partner stakeholders, industry groups, and internal leadership forums.
- Support cultural initiatives, communication, and leadership visibility across the region.
Functional Responsibilities - Partner Track
- Own the regional partner ecosystem strategy and execution through Sales Managers.
- Ensure consistent Joint Business Planning and QBR frameworks across countries.
- Strengthen partner capability, certifications, and specialization across strategic partners.
- Govern execution of partner enablement, investment programs, and MDF-backed initiatives.
- Align partner strategy with vendor priorities and multi-vendor solution motions.
- Drive partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline development across markets.
- Ensure partner experience consistency through clear engagement, responsiveness, and standards.
- Guide partner segmentation, prioritization, and coverage decisions across region or scope.
- Represent senior partner stakeholders' needs within regional planning and cross-functional forums.
We strive for visible leaders, both internally and externally. Whilst there is some room for working from Hem, the expectation for this role is to be in the office or out with our vendors and partners.
Travel: Moderate, aligned to leadership responsibilities and partner ecosystem needs. We have periods with a lot of events, so even if travel is only moderate, there are some evening events from time to time.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Proven experience leading partner or channel sales organizations through managers.
- Strong commercial acumen with deep partner ecosystem expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to develop high-performing leadership teams.
- Experience leading in complex, matrixed environments with competing priorities.
- High data literacy (performance analytics, forecasting, partner metrics, financial insight).
- Strong communication, influencing, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Fluent business Swedish & English.
Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience
- Prior experience working directly with or within the Cisco ecosystem is a distinct advantage.
- Experience leading regional or multi-Land partner ecosystems.
- Exposure to multi-vendor, solutions-led, or services-led go-to-market motions.
- Experience driving transformational or scaling initiatives.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Professional leadership or management certifications are an advantage
