Job Description

The Lead Technical Engineer (Solution Architect) is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive solutions that leverage AI, AIOps, data science, and machine learning to enhance Predictive and Proactive Operations. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, understanding technical requirements, and ensuring the alignment of solutions with architectural standards and best practices. The role also focuses on reducing technical debt, enabling holistic and strategic thinking, and delivering value-driven solutions aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement technical solutions using AI and machine learning to predict and proactively manage operational challenges.
  • Translate business needs and technical requirements into architectural blueprints, ensuring solutions align with organizational and technology standards.
  • Create architectural designs incorporating predictive analytics and AI-driven insights using tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Vertex AI.
  • Identify interdependencies and apply holistic thinking to ensure cross-team and cross-initiative alignment.
  • Analyze, design, develop, maintain, and communicate solution roadmaps and transition architectures.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with business analysts, product managers, and development teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Bridge the understanding of business, organizational, and technical implications of proposed solutions with stakeholders.
  • Facilitate alignment between teams to ensure solutions are value-driven, on-time, and meet quality standards.

Technical Expertise:

  • Stay updated on trends in AI, machine learning, and AIOps to identify and apply advancements in solving operational challenges.
  • Provide guidance on options, risks, and benefits when proposing solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and methodologies, including AI/ML lifecycle management practices and platforms like Vertex AI or Azure equivalents.
  • Oversee implementation of solutions, focusing on reducing technical debt and enhancing end-to-end business value.

Documentation and Communication:

  • Document and communicate architectural plans, solutions, and decisions effectively using tools like Confluence and Jira.
  • Ensure solution documentation supports implementation, maintenance, and audit processes.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing across teams and stakeholders.

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:

  • Ensure implemented solutions adhere to industry standards and business requirements.
  • Conduct reviews and audits to maintain architectural principles and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Evaluate the solution lifecycle to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness.

Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior architects and technical team members.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and learning-focused team environment.
  • Teach architectural thinking and facilitate best practices across the engineering community.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in AI, machine learning, or cloud architecture (e.g., GCP, Azure) are a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or equivalent roles, with 2+ years in a Solution Architecture capacity.
  • Proven experience designing solutions that integrate AI, data science, or AIOps technologies.
  • Strong track record in implementing large-scale solutions in diverse and complex environments.
  • Experience in data architecture and high-volume system design for retail or operational environments.
  • Experience working in large-scale agile organizations (e.g., SAFe) is preferred.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including tools like Vertex AI for machine learning deployment.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Knowledge of ITSM tools like ServiceNow and monitoring tools like Splunk and Dynatrace.
  • Experience in software architecture principles, patterns, and methodologies, including documentation using formal notations such as ArchiMate.
  • Strong understanding of modern development practices, including MLOps, data pipelines, and lifecycle management.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering business value.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to contextualize technical solutions with business goals and strategies.
  • Expertise in identifying interdependencies, applying holistic thinking, and enabling seamless collaboration across teams.

Preferred:

  • Certifications in cloud architecture (GCP, Azure) or modern development practices are a merit.
  • Experience with third-party vendor integration and procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of AI-driven solutions for Predictive and Proactive Operations.

  • Strong background in data science, statistical modeling, and algorithm development.
  • Proven ability to deliver AI-driven solutions for operational optimization.
