Overview: MachineGames is looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join our team!

As a Test Engineer, you will help ensure game quality by working with automated tests. You will be identifying areas that can be tested, write tests, examine the results and report to stakeholders. You will also be working with QA, producers and game programmers, helping them write and run tests.

MachineGames is located in central Uppsala, Sweden which is a small and vibrant city 40 minutes north of the capital, Stockholm. It has a historical heritage reaching back to pre-medieval times. This is a permanent position starting as soon as possible. The role is onsite with the option to work in a hybrid capacity at either our HQ in Uppsala or our satellite office in Sundsvall. We will support your relocation and/or application for work permit if you dont have one or are not an EU citizen and/or are not currently residing in Sweden. Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain automated tests that detect defects on incomplete builds of the game.
• Communicate results and test coverage to stakeholders and studio.
• Evaluate manual test cases for automation.
• Share knowledge of automated testing to the studio.
• Monitor and maintain the testing framework, pipeline and infrastructure.
• If required, debug, modify, extend or use the tools pipeline as necessary.
• Proactively provides suggestions on how to utilize new technologies and tools and implement them into our workflow.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrates and applies strong problem-solving and debugging skills in C++.
• Demonstrates and applies strong problem-solving and debugging skills in Python.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and methodologies.
• Proficiency at re-using, adopting and integrating existing code.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

• Learning mindset.
• CV in English.

Preferred Skills:

• Desirable to have experience from QA, preferably in game development.
• Experience working with a bespoke engine developed in-house.
• Experience using version control tools such as Git and Perforce.
• Experience using and customizing Grafana dashboards.
• Having worked on or shipped AAA games before.
• Having prior experience working on console games.
