Who We Are Allgon is looking for a new R&D Manager to join our head office and drive innovation within our organization. About the Role As an R&D Manager, you will lead and develop our embedded software development team in Gothenburg. This is a leadership role, where you will actively engage in technical discussions, and support the team in problem-solving. You will be responsible for team leadership, strategic planning, and technical excellence, ensuring efficient development of our wireless control systems. This role also includes resource planning, process improvements, and technology research, while contributing to development projects at both a strategic and technical level. You will report directly to the CTO. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop the R&D team, fostering collaboration, team growth, and innovation. Plan and allocate resources to support development projects, research initiatives, and ongoing product maintenance. Drive process improvements, competence development, and adoption of new tools. Lead feasibility studies and research efforts to explore and integrate new technologies. Ensure high-quality software design, verification, and compliance with Allgons standards and industry regulations. What Were Looking For We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong technical background within Embedded Software and excellent leadership qualities. The ideal candidate is an inspiring and proactive leader who fosters teamwork, encourages innovation, and drives continuous improvement within the organization. You should have strong problem-solving skills, a structured approach to project management, and the ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders. Key qualifications include: BSc or MSc in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. At least 10 years of experience in embedded software development Expertise in wireless communication or safety-critical applications is a strong plus. A minimum of 3 years of management experience in an R&D environment, leading teams of software developers and test engineers. Project management experience is a strong plus. Proven ability to manage and optimize development tools, processes, and workflows in an agile R&D setting. Fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
