Senior Mechanical Engineer
Are you a Senior Mechanical Engineer looking for a role where you can combine deep technical expertise with real product impact?
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join one of our business unit teams at Aimpoint. In this role, you will act as a key technical contributor throughout the product lifecycle, influencing design decisions, manufacturing solutions, and future product development. Working in a cross‑functional and agile environment, you will drive complex development activities, mentor colleagues, and play an important role in shaping the Nästa generation of Aimpoint products.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer - you will:
- Lead and drive mechanical development activities from concept generation through industrialization and product lifecycle management.
- Work in a cross‑functional team including product owners, scrum masters, mechanical engineers, electronics and software developers, production engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing.
- Take responsibility for test strategies, design decisions, manufacturing documentation, and documentation in accordance with applicable requirements and standards.
- Initiate and implement improvements to manufacturing methods and introduce them into production.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers in technical discussions.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the technical owner of mechanical design solutions and provide guidance on critical design decisions throughout development projects.
- Concept development, detailed design, and verification.
- Prototype development and testing.
- Product maintenance and troubleshooting for existing products.
We are seeking someone with:
- A Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical product development, including ownership of complex technical solutions from concept through production.
- Proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Extensive experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks).
- Knowledge of surface treatment methods and applications is considered an advantage.
Preferred skills and experiences:
- Design for volume manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA) and GD&T.
- Material and process expertise - plastic design, molding and casting processes, and metal machining.
- Understanding of dynamic forces, such as recoil loads.
- Experience with PLM systems and FEM analyses.
- Cross‑functional experience within areas such as electromechanics, optics, testing, and quality.
- Industry‑specific merits - knowledge of weapon systems; competitive shooting, hunting or military.
