What You Will Do

Manage the day‑to‑day indirect tax risk and proactive issue identification.

Develop, implement, and enforce Group policies, processes, governance frameworks, and priorities for indirect tax globally.

Drive the strategic development of the indirect tax area, including long‑term direction and technology‑enabled transformation.

Lead global strategic projects, ensuring indirect tax is embedded in major business initiatives, including restructurings and system implementations.

Oversee complex indirect tax audits worldwide, engaging with tax authorities and coordinating internal and external stakeholders.

Manage the deployment of external advisors (consultants, auditors, lawyers, etc.) to ensure efficient and value‑adding support.

Provide indirect tax input into strategic initiatives, integrations, and M&A workstreams where relevant, including contributing to M&A‑related tax assessments and supporting transaction execution as needed.

Oversee changes to Essity’s legal structure, ensuring simplification, compliance, and alignment with global tax strategy.

Collaborate closely with Essity’s global tax community, ensuring knowledge sharing, alignment, and strong cross‑border coordination.

Hold a university degree or equivalent within a relevant discipline, ideally with a strong background in tax law.

Bring at least 15 years of relevant tax experience in a global environment.

Possess a hands‑on, pragmatic, and proactive mindset, with the ability to translate strategy into execution.

Have strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex tax topics clearly to non‑tax stakeholders.

Demonstrate the ability to lead through influence and drive alignment in a global matrix environment.

Have experience delivering high‑quality tax support in complex projects, including restructurings, system rollouts, integrations, and M&A projects.

Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
