Amazon’s Legal Department is looking for a talented technology lawyer to support Amazon Web Services (AWS) in selling to commercial and public sector customers throughout the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, with a primary focus on supporting AWS in the Nordics, Baltics and Benelux (Europe North). AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing industry, providing AI and IT infrastructure services, such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, and more to private and public sector customers.
Key job responsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and advising on strategic technology service agreements with enterprise customers, public sector customers, and partners, as well as providing legal support for local and regional services and initiatives. The role will also involve ongoing legal counsel and regulatory interpretation and guidance for senior executives and other business and legal team members on a variety of product development, operational, security, compliance, data protection and public policy matters. The role includes participating in other legal team projects, including managing legal issues that arise in existing relationships and handling customer and business partner inquiries.
We are looking for a candidate who is proactive, entrepreneurial, enjoys being challenged, has strong technology and communication skills, and demonstrates sound, pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations.
This Tjänst is based in Stockholm, Sverige. Some regional and international travel will be required.
A day in the lifeYou will work with various teams within the AWS organisation. Our lawyers value working alongside and in person with their business colleagues and local legal teams to solve a constant flow of novel challenges in a growing and exciting business. AWS empowers millions of customers worldwide to build, innovate, and scale their businesses through our comprehensive cloud computing platform. You will be a legal and thought partner for your colleagues on day-to-day matters as well as long-term strategic issues. You will own drafting, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements with enterprise customers, channel partners, marketing agencies, and technology vendors. You will pioneer AI-driven transformation of legal operations—improving contract review cycles, eliminating manual bottlenecks, and deploying advanced research tools that deliver insights in minutes instead of hours. Your innovations will multiply our legal function's impact, enabling faster decisions, consistency, and proactive risk mitigation that keeps us ahead of emerging challenges.
Working directly with colleagues in the business, you will serve as lead counsel on strategic sales transactions, and partnership agreements while helping manage existing commercial relationships. You will also research, advise, and develop expertise on new go-to-market initiatives, advertising regulations, data privacy matters, and emerging legal issues that impact the business.
About the teamThe Nordics, Baltics and Benelux (Europe North) AWS Legal team is part of the broader EMEA Sales & Marketing (SMGS) Legal organisation and consists of lawyers supporting AWS's regional customer base across commercial and public sector engagements. The team also handles EMEA-wide workstreams, including matters of data protection, financial services and telecommunications. Work spans transactional, regulatory, and advisory support across multiple jurisdictions, requiring close collaboration with business stakeholders and legal colleagues throughout the region.
