Vertical Market Director – Construction & Infrastructure

Xylem is looking for a commercially driven and strategic Vertical Market Director to accelerate growth within the Construction & Infrastructure sector globally. Working within the Water Solutions & Services (WSS) segment, you will lead the development and execution of commercial strategies to expand market penetration for our water treatment and pumping solutions across infrastructure, utilities, and construction applications. This is a global, strategic leadership role focused on shaping growth, activating regional teams, and driving long‑term value creation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the global growth strategy for the Construction & Infrastructure vertical.
  • Drive market penetration across infrastructure segments including utilities, treatment plants, and construction projects.
  • Build and strengthen key account relationships with major customers, contractors, and specifying engineers.
  • Identify, prioritize, and guide high‑value opportunities across regions.
  • Activate and enable regional BDM and sales teams to pursue and convert opportunities.
  • Provide strategic direction on where and how to win, based on deep understanding of industry buying dynamics.
  • Collaborate with product management, marketing, and R&D to shape value proTjänsts and solutions.
  • Share market insights, trends, and competitive intelligence to influence business strategy.
  • Support global coordination of key accounts and major project pursuits.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or similar.
  • Significant experience in commercial leadership, strategic sales, or business development in a global context.
  • Strong knowledge of the Construction & Infrastructure industry, including utilities and treatment plants.
  • Proven understanding of how buying decisions are made in construction (e.g., contractors, EPCs, specifying engineers).
  • Experience with water treatment, pumping solutions, or related technologies.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including solution/value‑based selling.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels across regions.
  • Experience working in complex, international matrix organizations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Fluent English required.
