Job Mission

We are now looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer / Project Lead for a 1-year temporary Tjänst to cover for parental leave. In this role, you will have both technical responsibility and project leadership, driving customer projects from initial inquiry to delivery‑ready solutions. You take full ownership of your assignments, ensure high engineering quality, and secure feasible and cost‑effective solutions in close collaboration with colleagues and customers.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Independently lead design projects and customer assignments, with responsibility for schedule, quality and technical content.
  • Plan, prioritise and manage several projects and tasks in parallel.
  • Lead and support other design engineers in ongoing assignments, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Develop customer‑specific solutions based on specifications and real applications at end customers.
  • Work daily in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks, from concept and layout to final drawings and BOMs.
  • Ensure that solutions are mechanically robust and suitable for production, considering material selection and manufacturing methods (e.g. welding, bending, cutting, machining).
  • Work closely with Sales, Order/Administration and Production to secure feasible, cost‑effective and timely deliveries.
  • Provide technical support internally and, when needed, in customer discussions – for example in complex applications or special adaptations.

The role reports to the Engineering Manager and is based in Kungsbacka.

About you:

You:

  • Have a structured and proactive way of working with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Communicate clearly and comfortably with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Enjoy cooperating with others and contribute to a positive, knowledge‑sharing team culture.
  • Are solution‑oriented, analytical and able to balance customer needs, technical feasibility and cost.

It is an advantage if you:

  • Have experience within electrical engineering, controls or mechatronics.
  • Have worked with vacuum or pneumatic equipment.
  • Have experience from customer‑specific / engineered-to-order solutions rather than only standard products.
Experience and Education

We believe you have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably from product or machine manufacturing.
  • Very strong skills in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Solid understanding of mechanics, material selection and common manufacturing methods (e.g. welding, bending, cutting, machining).
  • Proven experience of working in a project‑oriented way, planning and driving your own design projects.
  • Experience from leading or coordinating design work is a strong plus.
  • A relevant technical education, for example B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
