The Chief Risk Officer is responsible for the independent risk management function of CapitalBox AB and for ensuring that all material risks are appropriately identified, assessed, managed, and reported in accordance with Swedish and EU regulatory requirements. The role is part of senior management and has regular interaction with the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establishing, maintaining, and further developing the risk management framework, policies, and procedures
  • Defining and monitoring the Företag’s risk appetite and ensuring alignment with the business strategy
  • Overseeing all material risk types, including credit, operational, liquidity, compliance, and strategic risks
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and supervisory guidelines issued by Finansinspektionen, EBA, and relevant EU legislation
  • Acting as the primary contact for risk-related matters with regulators, external auditors, and internal control functions
  • Providing independent risk reporting and recommendations to senior management and the Board
  • Overseeing credit risk management, portfolio monitoring, stress testing, and scenario analysis
  • Contributing to ICAAP / ILAAP and other regulatory reporting processes, where applicable
  • Promoting a strong risk awareness and risk culture throughout the organization
  • Leading and developing the risk management function and coordinating with Group Risk
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong knowledge of Swedish and EU financial regulation, including FI, EBA, CRR/CRD, and related supervisory guidelines.
  • Experience leading regulatory interactions and contributing to ICAAP/ILAAP and other risk-related submissions.
  • Proven leadership of an independent risk function in a regulated financial institution or fintech lender.
  • Deep understanding of credit, operational, liquidity, compliance, and strategic risks.
  • Experience defining and monitoring risk appetite, and maintaining enterprise-wide risk frameworks.
  • Hands‑on experience with credit risk, portfolio monitoring, underwriting, and stress testing.
  • Strong analytical capability and ability to provide clear, accurate risk reporting to senior management and the Board.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to challenge, influence, and advise senior leadership.
  • Experience building and developing a high‑performing risk team.
  • Ability to promote a strong risk culture across the organization.
  • Familiarity with risk systems, data analytics, and tools supporting risk monitoring and reporting.
  • Understanding of digital lending processes and modern data‑driven risk practices.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are an asset.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and independence in decision‑making.
